Message Clarity and How to Craft Yours
Striving for something called “message clarity” will make a difference in the results you achieve in your business, and even throughout your life. Is your message cloudy or clear?
As I listened to the weather report on the radio I thought about the message we send out to the world as entrepreneurs, authors, and small business owners. I consider myself to be an ongoing student of online marketing and my goal is to make sure I deliver a clear message with everything I say, do, and write. If I don’t hit the mark it is soon evident to me based on feedback I receive from prospects and clients, my sales numbers, and in how people respond and react to me in person or online. Message clarity is definitely worth striving for each day, personally and professionally.
My message is that anyone can become a successful entrepreneur once they commit to sharing their message consistently and with enthusiasm. I teach a variety of business models, including…
- information products
- affiliate marketing
- authorship
- local business marketing
- individual and small group coaching or mentoring
- membership sites
- content marketing
So if I would tell you that I am now specializing in SEO (search engine optimization) or paid advertising you would immediately perceive a “message to market” mismatch. On the other hand, when I share details of how you can start your own small group coaching program the message to market match makes sense to you. Are you following me here?
If you are having difficulty connecting with your target audience and are making regular efforts to reach out to them through blogging, social media, simple info products, and networking then more than likely you are not making it clear what you do and who you serve.
I work with people who are brand new, or have been online for a year or longer and are still not consistently earning at least 3K a month. When you get to that level or above I consider you to be a strategic alliance partner and the relationship shifts a bit to better serve us both.
your “one” thing is just a centimeter away from giving you the life you want and deserve. Keep reading.
During the fall of 2007 I tied for 10th place in an affiliate contest for Alex Mandossian’s “Teleseminar Secrets” course. This was a two thousand dollar program that changed the way I was able to deliver information to my prospects and clients. I became an affiliate for this course and began singing its praises to everyone who would listen. When the contest was over Alex arranged a call with me to find out who I was and how I had showed up on his affiliate leader board with only 651 names on my list. Our conversation was meaningful in several ways and by the time it ended two things were crystal clear; Alex had become a friend and trusted mentor and I was on my way to becoming a contender in the marketing world.
I still tear up when sharing this story, as I was 52 years old and had finally discovered my passion and my “one” thing. The call ended and I took the next few minutes to decide how I could share my gift with others.
If you and I have met in person you know that I don’t hold back with anything I know. And I go out of my way to make sure you benefit from improving your marketing. Marketing is everything and can ensure your business thrives and grows exponentially. Marketing is one part intuition and one part common sense. It is gentle persuasion, word play, sales, and emotion. And the very best way I can impart my knowledge and experience to you on this topic is to spend time with you in person, communicating in the way that can only be accomplished face to face.
What is your message? How do you describe your target audience? Who are your prospects? What’s for sale? Who else is already doing something similar to what you offer? Competition (or “coopetition” where we cooperatively compete with one another) is crucial to success. The contrast makes everyone more appealing to our prospects, so make it your goal to find clarity with your message.
Become a student of marketing and your life will change, as mine has over these past fourteen years.
