Are you using membership sites to build your online business and increase your revenue? When I first got started online I decided that having a membership site was of interest to me. Unfortunately, at that time it was cost prohibitive and required a team of technical people to keep your site up and running. Without any members in place this just didn’t seem like a smart idea, so I filed it under business strategies I would look into as my business and income grew over time.
Now it is easier than ever to set up and maintain as many membership sites as you like, thanks to changes in technology for ease of use. I use the Wishlist Member plug-in for WordPress. The most important thing is to decide what the topic will be, what type of content, training, and other information you will provide, and how you will continually market your membership site to be able to find new members. All of this will make the difference in whether or not you are as successful as you want and deserve to be.
I have many of these sites now, and each one is devoted to a particular segment of my business. Instead of teaching Internet marketing or online business strategies, my sites teach article marketing, marketing for small business, and traffic generation for online business owners. This has proved to be the very best way for me to share my skills, knowledge, and expertise with the people who come to me for help and advice.
You must add fresh content to your membership sites each month, in order for your members to feel like they must stay in your program and continue to pay. Choose different ways of providing this new content, such as writing short reports, creating audio and video trainings, and hosting a live webinar that can be recorded and added to your member’s area for members to watch in the future.
Marketing is a daily activity. Spend some time each day to let people know about your site and what it has to offer. This can be done by writing and submitting short articles, emailing your list, connecting with prospects on the social media sites, and attending live events where you can meet prospects in person. By adding some marketing to your list of daily activities, you will soon find out that it feels like a natural part of your day. This will also ensure that new people easily find out about your site to give you a steady stream of new members.
