“Can I make money on the Internet with a home-based computer business?”
Students ask me regularly whether I believe they can really be successful with an online business. I always say that it depends on a number of factors:
- Are you willing to put in the time and the effort to learn what you need to know?
- Have you chosen a niche where there are already people who are willing and able to purchase the products and information that is currently available?
- Will you treat this as a business, and not just a hobby?
- Are you willing to persevere by working on this every day for the next year?
If you can answer ‘Yes!’ to each of these questions, you have the very best chance to make money on the Internet with your online business. I have found that most people give up after just a few months, or work for a month or two, take off for a month, and then start again. This does not work.
Focus your time and attention on your goal of having a profitable online business, choose a niche quickly, and then get to work with setting up a blog, writing articles, hosting teleseminars, becoming active in social media marketing, and find affiliate products to promote while you are creating your own products. This is my 5 Pronged Approach, and it works! Let me know how you do with this online strategy.

I love the last point! I don’t even think about it any more as I’m always online! Creating your own business online is FUN and very rewarding. I’d also add to the list – are you willing to continue on even when things don’t look like they are going your way. Or if you plan a great product or a great promotion and it fails miserably what will you do? Now that can be tough…but you just have to keep going. 🙂

Lisa,
Thanks so much for your comment. Yes, we must persevere even after failure, turning each experience into a learning one.

Connie,
You’ve taught this to your students that the blueprint is really that simple. We often over-complicate and over-think things and get paralyzed instead of taking action.
Thanks for the reminders.
