Week 4: Learn how to communicate with your audience through email.

Week 6: Choose your income model and plan how to expand it.

It’s not another collection of random information or a giant list of things you “should” be doing.

It’s a progression:

The Momentum Method™

6 Weeks to Building an Online Business That Creates Income You Can See, Expand Upon, and Spend

The promise: You don’t need to know everything about online marketing. You need to know what to do next—and then keep moving.

Absolutely. I would make Week 1 a very hands-on experience. The goal isn’t to give participants another complicated business plan. It’s to help them make the decisions that will make the next five weeks much easier.

The philosophy could be:

You don’t need to have your entire business figured out before you begin. You simply need enough clarity to know what you’re building, who you’re building it for, and what you’re going to do next.

The Momentum Method™
Week 1 — Create Your Foundation
Five Days to Clarity, Direction & Your Simple Business Plan

By the end of Week 1, each participant should have a one-page business foundation they can use throughout the rest of the course.

I’d structure the five days like this:

Day 1 — Start With Your Why
What Do You Want Your Business to Do for You?

This is where you get them thinking beyond, “I want to make money online.”

For someone beginning later in life, the business needs to fit the life they actually want to live.

You’ll help them explore:

Why do I want an online business?
What would additional income make possible?
Do I want supplemental income, replacement income, or eventually something larger?
How much time do I realistically have?
What do I want more of in my life?
What do I want less of?
What would make this business worth building?
What does “success” look like to me personally?

I’d have them create a simple Personal Business Vision.

For example:

I am building an online business that gives me meaningful work, additional income, flexibility and the opportunity to use what I know to help others.

The important lesson:

Your business is supposed to support your life—not consume it.

This gives you an opportunity to introduce your idea of real-life entrepreneurship. They aren’t creating an imaginary business around an imaginary schedule.

They’re creating something that fits the life they actually have.

Day 2 — Discover What You Already Know
Your Experience Is an Asset

This could become one of the most powerful lessons in the entire course.

Many newer entrepreneurs think:

“I don’t know enough.”

But someone who has been working, raising a family, changing careers, overcoming challenges, developing skills and navigating life has accumulated an enormous amount of knowledge, experience, perspective and stories.

Help them create an Experience Inventory.

Have them list:

Skills

What can you do well?

Knowledge

What do you know a lot about?

Experience

What have you personally experienced?

Problems You’ve Solved

What have you figured out that someone else might still be struggling with?

Interests

What could you happily learn, discuss or create around?

Stories

What experiences have changed you?

Then introduce the question:

“What do I know that someone else would find useful?”

This moves them from thinking like a consumer to thinking like an entrepreneur.

Exercise: The Experience-to-Income Map

Have them complete:

I know how to __________.

I’ve learned how to __________.

I’ve struggled with __________ and eventually learned __________.

People often ask me about __________.

I could help someone __________.

Someone might pay me to help them __________.

This exercise could eventually become the foundation for Week 3’s content work and Week 6’s income model.

Day 3 — Decide Who You’re Here to Help
Find Your People

I wouldn’t make this a complicated “ideal customer avatar” exercise.

New entrepreneurs can spend days creating fictional profiles with names, ages, favorite coffee drinks and vacation destinations—and still have no idea what to say to real people.

Instead, teach them to identify:

Who has a problem I understand?

Who do I genuinely want to help?

What are they trying to accomplish?

What are they frustrated by?

What are they searching for?

What do they wish someone would make easier?

Then introduce your concept of “your people.”

They don’t need to identify everyone they could possibly serve.

They need to identify the people they most want to attract right now.

Exercise: The “Your People” Statement

Have them complete:

I help __________ who want to __________ but are struggling with __________. I help them by __________.

For example:

I help newer entrepreneurs who want to build an online income stream but are overwhelmed by all the things they’re told they need to do. I help them simplify the process and take consistent action.

That one statement can eventually influence their:

Bio
Website
Lead magnet
Emails
Blog posts
Social media
Products
Offers

Day 4 — Choose Your Simple Business Model
How Will This Business Make Money?

This is where I would introduce the concept that there are many ways to make money online—but they don’t need to pursue all of them.

You can briefly introduce:

Affiliate marketing
Digital products
Courses
Coaching
Consulting
Freelancing/services
Memberships
Sponsorships
Books
Multiple income streams

But then bring them back to simplicity.

Ask:

“What is the simplest business model that makes sense for where you are right now?”

This is especially important for your audience because they may be tempted to build a website, start a podcast, create a course, launch a YouTube channel, become an affiliate, write a book and start posting on seven social platforms—all at once.

You want to teach:

One Audience
One Primary Problem
One Primary Solution
One Primary Income Path
One Simple Marketing System

Not forever.

For now.

That’s a very important distinction.

Exercise: Choose Your First Income Path

Have them answer:

What will I sell or recommend?
Who will it help?
Why would they want it?
How will people discover it?
How will I communicate with them?
What action do I want them to take?
What will I do consistently for the next 90 days?

Day 5 — Build Your One-Page Momentum Plan
Put the Pieces Together

This is the culmination of the week.

Instead of a traditional 20-page business plan, they create a One-Page Momentum Plan.

I’d have these sections:

1. My Purpose

Why am I building this business?

2. My People

Who am I here to help?

3. Their Problem

What problem or desire am I addressing?

4. My Solution

What will I help them do?

5. My Message

What do I want to become known for?

6. My First Income Model

How will I begin making money?

7. My Visibility Strategy

Where will I begin getting attention?

8. My Email Strategy

How will I begin building relationships?

9. My Weekly Commitment

How much time can I realistically devote to this?

10. My First 90-Day Goal

What specific result am I working toward?

And finally:

My Next Step

What is the ONE thing I will do next?

That last question is important because planning can become another form of procrastination.

I’d Add One More Element: The “Not Now” List

This could become a signature part of your teaching.

At the beginning of a new business, there are always dozens of things someone could do.

But momentum comes from knowing what to do and what not to do.

Have them create a:

NOT NOW List

Examples:

I’m not starting three social platforms.
I’m not creating five products.
I’m not building a complicated website.
I’m not learning every marketing strategy.
I’m not buying another course because I feel uncertain.
I’m not trying to serve everyone.
I’m not changing my business direction every week.

Then:

“Not now” doesn’t mean “never.” It simply means “not part of my current plan.”

I think that would resonate strongly with your audience.

The Week 1 Transformation

You want participants to begin Week 1 thinking:

“There is so much I don’t know about online business. Where do I even begin?”

And finish the week thinking:

“I know who I’m helping, what I’m building, how I can begin making money, and what I’m going to do next.”

That’s a meaningful transformation in just five days.

And it sets up the rest of the course beautifully:

Week 1: I know what I’m building.
Week 2: I’m building an audience I own.
Week 3: I’m creating things my people want.
Week 4: I’m building relationships with them.
Week 5: I’m getting more of the right people to find me.
Week 6: I’m turning what I’ve built into income.

That gives The Momentum Method™ a very clear story: every week builds on the previous week rather than becoming six disconnected marketing lessons.

Building Assets That Keep Working for You

The most successful solo marketers don’t just earn money. They build things that continue creating value long after they’re finished.

When most people think about making more money, they immediately think about working more hours. It’s an understandable assumption: more effort should equal more income.

But online business doesn’t always work that way.

The biggest shift I ever made wasn’t discovering a magic platform or the latest AI tool. It was realizing that successful marketers spend much of their time creating assets instead of simply completing tasks.

A task ends when you finish it. An asset keeps working.

A helpful blog post can attract visitors for years. A YouTube video can continue generating subscribers long after it’s published. A digital product can be sold hundreds of times without being recreated. An email newsletter grows more valuable with every new subscriber. Even a thoughtful social media post can introduce new customers to your business months after you hit “Publish.”

If you’re just getting started, here’s a simple framework to remember:

Choose one niche. Don’t chase every opportunity.

Solve one problem. People pay for solutions, not products.

Create one valuable asset each week. A guide, checklist, video, template, or tutorial is far more valuable than another hour spent scrolling for ideas.

Recommend tools you genuinely use. Affiliate income works best when it’s built on trust rather than sales pitches.

Keep publishing. Most online success comes from consistency, not overnight breakthroughs.

The wonderful thing about asset-building is that every piece of work makes the next one more valuable. Your audience grows. Your content library expands. Your email list gets larger. Your products improve.

The goal isn’t to become “lazy.”

It’s to spend your time building things that continue working for you tomorrow, next month, and years from now. That’s how solo marketers create businesses that grow without constantly having to start over every Monday morning.
